We travel not to escape life but for life not to escape us.

Erin Harrington + Kelly Jean Moore

Fire + Nectar

June 3 - 10, 2023

Unplug and explore a stunning stretch of coastal Portugal. Just two hours south of Lisbon, this award winning 275 acre farm was designed specifically for Yoga Retreats. Indoor and outdoor yoga shalas (yoga rooms) host daily practice, a private freshwater lake and inviting dock to bask in the sun, oversized hammocks for afternoon siestas, a circus of goats, sheep, puppies and free range peacocks to greet you each day.

Located near the charming village of Vila Nova Milfontes this region is known for its long stretches of untouched, wild coastlines and white-washed villages. The entire area is protected by a nature reserve that has preserved traditional architecture and small farms. The ocean is a 10-minute drive or a scenic bike ride away and ideal for swimming, surfing, and world-class hiking along miles of trails.

The Yoga

Erin and Kelly offer daily, all level classes for every body. In the tradition of Ground, Center and Sky, classes range from dynamic vinyasa flow, slow flow, yin and workshop style to deepen your practice. Thematically Fire and Nectar represent our ability to ignite and transform balanced with qualities of surrender and flow. To “retreat” is essential in reclaiming balance and returning to the sacred all around us.

Erin, with more than 500 hours of yoga training and 20+ years of experience, combines playful sequences, alignment, poetry, curated music, meditation and breath work for experiential classes. Kelly-Jean is a certified Rolfer and founded Mission Yoga, Charleston. After 2 decades of practice, Kelly founded Sarayana Yoga as a method of seeing and contextualizing the varied elements of healing and awakening in our lives. Together Erin and Kelly embody the principles of Fire and Nectar balancing yogic alignment with big, open heartedness.

The Food

You’ll love three delicious, locally sourced farm-to-table meals each day. Prepared with love, this food exudes the local deliciousness inherent to the region.

A typical breakfast includes eggs, local fruit, Greek yogurt, homemade granola, local honey, homemade jam, slow-baked bread and a daily tonic. Lunch is often a bowl: a base of ancient grains like farro topped with avocado, roasted veggies, nori or mixed greens. For dinner, expect Indian or Japanese inspired curries, Mediterranean stews, legumes, rice, salad and dessert. There is even an outdoor, wood-fired Pizza oven.

Accommodations for dietary restrictions are welcomed.

Exploring Alentejo

You’ll stand in awe on the famed Fisherman’s Trail. This full day guided hike meanders through stunning coastal terrain with blooming camomile, herbs, succulents of every color and unrivaled Atlantic vistas. It’s a good 10 mile hike with a fantastic beach picnic break along the way.

To be in this region is incomplete without a Frupor Farm wine tour. You’ll be sipping award winning Vicentino wines with the wine makers while exploring the local terroir of the vineyards.

These excursions are included but you’re free to opt out and enjoy the solitude of a restful day on the farm. A handful of bicycles are available, skinny dip in the pristine freshwater lake, or simply daydream in an oversized hammock. Praia de Malhao - a fabulous untouched beach, perfect for surfing, SUP, swimming, or sunbathing is a 10 minute drive.
